A Partial Denture Needs to Be Cleaned and Maintained with Regularity

Posted .

Your new partial denture was designed by the dental specialists at Pine Ridge Dental to replace the basic function of your missing teeth without the invasive oral surgery required to restore the teeth with a dental implant-supported bridge. This removable dental appliance was created in a special dental lab from special materials that mimic the appearance of your missing teeth.
Even though the partial denture will not succumb to bacterial tooth decay, it will still need some basic care and cleaning. Some simple daily care will help maximize its lifespan and ensure a comfortable fit with your gums.
Make sure to thoroughly rinse your partial denture each night will help clean away plaque and residual denture adhesive. You should then brush your partial with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a non-abrasive toothpaste like denture polish. You can then store your partial denture overnight by soaking it in water and keeping it some place safe.
Once this is done you should continue on brushing and flossing the rest of your teeth as part of your daily oral hygiene routine. Be sure to pay a little extra attention to brushing and flossing the teeth adjacent to your partial denture. This will help the unit fit comfortably in place.
